Yelcot receives grant to connect more than 1300 residential and commercial properties in Stone County


Today, The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) this week announced the awarding of additional ReConnect funds to three NTCA member companies in Mississippi, Arkansas, Wisconsin, and Tennessee.

 

Mountain View Telephone Company will use a $2.9 million ReConnect Program grant to upgrade facilities from copper cable and drops to an FTTH network that is expected to connect 1300 households, several farms, businesses, and public safety facilities to a fiber-to-the-premises network in Stone County.


“We are excited about the opportunity to upgrade over 66 miles of copper to fiber in 4 remote areas for Mountain View Telephone Company customers,” Yelcot President Sara Zimmerman said.
