If your phone isn't working, these tests can help you determing why:

1. Make sure all telephones are hung up.

2. Visually inspect all exposed wiring and connections for loose connections or damage.

3. If you have more than one outlet, check to determine if proper operation can be obtained from any outlet. If it can, the trouble has been isolated to an instrument or house-wire.

4. To isolate house-wiring or jack problems simply move a working telephone to each outlet to determine which location is causing the trouble.
